CeCe’s second-floor Hollywood apartment recently climbed above 100°F. We’re raising funds for a portable air conditioners, delivery, installation, and the increased utility bills that heavy use will cause.

THE APARTMENT:

-Built in the 60’s, Hot sun daily heats the flat roof above the unit which radiates heat into the apartment making it ten degrees hotter than outside temp.

THE FORECAST:

-This year’s El Nino is expected to cause extreme heat warnings in SoCal. 105 -110 days are possible, which would make her unit dangerously hot without powerful 13,000 BTU AC units.

Currently, with “only fans”* blowing

hot air around 24/7, it’s difficult to cool down, or focus on work—and the hottest part of summer is still ahead.

I’m Christian, CeCe’s friend of 25 years.

I started this fundraiser with her permission because purchasing and operating a cooling system is currently beyond what she can afford.

CeCe came to Los Angeles with a purpose: to produce films that reflect her Christian faith and bring messages of hope, faith, and charity to the screen.

Building a values-driven creative career in Hollywood is rarely easy, but she has remained committed to creating work that aligns with her beliefs even while struggling for over 25 years.

Following Jesus, she’s facing a much more immediate problem: the extreme heat in her apartment is making it difficult to develop the project she cares so deeply about. Friends and potential business partners are uncomfortable and see her home office as a problem, not a professional workspace.

We’re raising $1000 to purchase two portable air conditioners, install them safely, and help cover the additional electricity required to run them during the hottest part of the summer.

The funds will cover:

Portable air conditioners: $400 x 2

Delivery: $50

Window venting, weather sealing, and installation materials (Im doing it FREE)

Additional electricity for two of the hottest months: $150 +

Once the goal is reached, we’ll purchase immediately and post an update with photos of the unit installed.

Every contribution will help give CeCe a better place to rest, work, and continue pursuing her calling.

Why can’t CeCe currently afford the AC herself?

-Her income at this writing, (July 23) is not meeting her needs.

How hot is the apartment? :

-90- 95 on average in afternoon until mid evening. High 70’s at night.

Why doesn’t the apartment already have AC, and what did the landlord say?

-It’s an old unit, rented “as is” with bars in the window which wont allow window units.

Is the proposed AC permitted and suitable for the apartment?

-YES

Is a portable unit is allowed, can be vented safely, and is appropriate?

-YES.
